Welcome to Angling Norway

Big Salmon
Big Silvery Gaula Salmon
Fishing in Norway is the opportunity to practise what anglers from all over the world have experienced since the early 1800s in pursuit of big salmon and other game fish. 150,000 to 200,000 silvery Atlantic salmon are caught in Norwegian rivers every year, and it is not unusual to be faced with the BIG ones. Running and landing 18 kilos of fresh salmon can provide a stirring and exciting experience.

Mighty Rivers

The awesome might of the Namsen, the leisurely but potent pace of the Tana, the breathtaking Alta, the powerful and spate-affected Gaula, the winding and regulated Numedal – these are just some of the 450 productive salmon rivers in Norway. Norway has rivers and salmon to suit everyone.

Grand Scenery

Norway – the land of fjords and mountains, trolls and Norse legends, midnight sun and sparkling Northern Lights – has the most breathtaking scenery from the Highlands of the Arctic, the wide and open areas of the Central region, the magnificent Fjordland on the west coast to the grand valleys of the south and the east.

Travel to Norway
Norway – far, far away? No just a quick 2 hours flight from many European cities. It might seem far away but journeys today are swift and comfortable. Any European can leave home in the morning and fish beyond the Arctic Circle in the afternoon. If you prefer to travel by car and need to cross the Skagerak or the North Sea, modern ferries bring you quickly and comfortably to Bergen, Kristiansand, Larvik, Oslo or Stavanger.
